Hi Luvz! U guys know i'm an uber Kanye West fan and He recently won an ACE award (Accessories Council Award) for Stylemaker of the year...which is a huge fashion award to win. It is given those who influence style n fashion. (gaga won last year)..ANYWHO..here's his speech which i loved by the way.

"The concept of commercialism in the fashion and art world is looked down upon. You know, just to think, “What amount of creativity does it take to make something that masses of people like?” And, “How does creativity apply across the board?” Why, if someone is good in one field can they not be accepted or given the slightest opportunity to express and be creative in other fields? I thank Marc Jacobs so much for giving me the opportunity to design a shoe for Louis Vuitton, but the thing that broke my heart most was when they said, “You’re finished. The shoe’s finished.” When it was ready it was like the dream of putting together the fabric and having the energy that I knew of being a street kid, of being a boy out of Chicago, and enjoying every day and the way I can connect with this. It’s like, you can’t play the video game anymore. And that’s what it’s about. So many people in this room, they can’t even go on vacation without being creative. They can’t sit on the beach, they have to create constantly. And that’s how I feel with this album coming out.

I feel convicted. I feel a level of honesty. I feel a level of truth. I feel like a 5-year old. I feel like I’m getting closer to the 5-year-old inside of me and I feel like I have to represent that 5-year-old, even, even at the risk of my public … Maybe I can’t find the words right now, but we know what it is. Some people hate me. But nonetheless, my biggest moments, my biggest Internet-crashing moments were the opinion of a 5-year-old. The opinion of a 5-year-old, the spirit of a 5-year-old with the responsibility of a 100-year old. Where the truth will set you free or the truth will close doors. What compromises do we have to make? How many compromises do we have to make every day in this field just to keep things going? Just to be able to sell a product?

And looking at my project now versus Graduation, and look at what’s happening — what is the impact? What is the impact of last year? What did it have on me? Years from now, hundreds of years from now, what will be written in the history books? If you want to just understand how much I care, how selfless I am, how much I could give … For this to be the fifteen-year anniversary and for me to stand up here and be the first male to be honored for an influencer award or to be even recognized, because I sit back and as I say, “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags” … Fashion breaks my heart.

You know, when they do a magazine of No. 1 New Yorkers or something like that and I’m blatantly left out, I feel like … It hurts me. And I just appreciate the people in this room that are open-minded enough to remember when they were a 5-year-old. To remember when they could color outside the lines, to remember when they could give their opinion honestly without affecting their job, without it affecting their well-being. Or their kids having to go to the same school because they’re convicted about what they really, really believe. I thought that’s what true art was. I thought that’s what a true artist was. And to be able to stand up here in front of you guys and be recognized after all of this means a lot to me, and it means a lot for me to say this right now. Convicted right now. Thirty-three-years-old, still creating art. It’s rage, it’s creativity, it’s pain, it’s hurt, but it’s the opportunity to still have my voice get out there through music. To let my pain hit the radio and thank you for this moment of acceptance.”

Kanye stated " the Phoenix represents every significant woman in my life, including my mother and recent girlfriends"...guess u cud also say that it represents his career from his rise to his ‘fall’ with the Taylor Swift incident, and his rise again.

For all you former high school students/ current or graduated college students, you understand the dynamics of a history classroom.

Some are interested, some aren't.

But for those lovers of history or knowledge in general, how would you feel if someone told you everything that you've learned about your history was a lie. From inception to deception, nothing was told the way it actually happened.

For Black Americans, this is the story of their lives. If you weren't blessed enough to grow up in a family where oral history is strong, all you are left to rely on is an education birthed of a system that has set out to lie.

But then again, why would the oppressors seek to properly educate the oppressed?

With it being so hard to resist temptation in today’s society, is monogamy still alive?

When ur in a relationship, u make the decision to be in an exclusive, committed partnership between u and ur partner…at least that’s how I see it, but what fidelity means to other individuals may vary. Cheating …we all know wat it is. It’s having sex outside of an agreement of sexual exclusivity. Most people have either cheated or been cheated on which makes me think is it even possible to be monogamous? I was raised to believe that All men cheat…at least that’s how my mother feels. I was told that even if ur the most amazing and the most interesting woman, u will never b able to keep ur man from cheating bcuz it has nothing to do with u. It’s the fact that most men have this primal urge for variety.

Most people would agree that women want commitment and security, and men want…well sex. Of course, most men also want to be loved but the fact is that men want to b able to have their cake and eat it too. Now this isn’t a man bashing blog…I love men and am grateful that God put them here on earth, but they are some roaming mofos. I will b the first to say that women stray damn near as much as men do these days so I’m not putting us on a pedestal. There are many reasons for why men cheat and the biggest reason is because they can. Women on the other hand are apparently more likely to stray because of problems within a relationship.

Women usually have the dilemma of being a modern woman whose right it is to enjoy sex and sleep with whomever she chooses, while trying to avoid the reputation of the loose woman. Men are celebrated and congratulated while women are encouraged to act lady like. Some couples choose to go for open relationships, but I think they just open the door for more problems. Women who have open relationships only do it bcuz their afraid of losing an already uncommitted man.

Women in the past relied on men for financial and emotional security but nowadays we can provide for ourselves which makes it really easy to tell ur man to kick rocks with no shoes on. I’m tired of men using the excuse of being a man to justify their ways…wat the hell is that supposed to mean? Men want to cheat and have it not be seen as a big deal. They want us to overlook their ways but I guarantee u if u cheated on him, he wud throw u the deuces faster than Chris Brown. I feel like everyone (man or woman) likes to push the limits to see just how much we can get away with. The thing is with STD’s being more prevalent than ever and with the possibility of creating a child, why even go there?

Most people believe that Men who claim to b 100% faithful are either lying or are scared of being caught and that women who claim their men are 100% faithful are either lying or ignorant. I think the fear of being caught is the biggest reason that people don’t cheat….especially in a society like ours where people are nosy. You might choose to be faithful just bcuz u love your mate and u wouldn’t want to do anything to cause them pain. I feel like there is always going to be someone out there that ur going to be attracted to, but ur not gonna b able to find a good decent mate who you’ll share an intense connection with. A lot of times we cheat and find ourselves feeling as though it wasn’t worth it….the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Sometimes u just gotta set up ur lawn chair where u already are.

There is a small percentage of men (like my brother) who wholeheartedly desire one and only one woman, but they are the last of a dying breed. The one thing I want the most here on this earth is to find one mate that I can grow with and experience life with. With all this being said, is it so naïve to want to believe that one person could be enough?..that I can b the one and only person to please my mate mentally, physically, and spiritually? Should we just accept the way things are? Should we even attempt to get in or stay in a committed relationship when we know that cheating is pretty much inevitable?

Why is it so hard to wrap it up when the choices are H.I.V and tears, 18 years, or a healthy life?

I don't understand why we have such a hard time practicing safe sex?..wait, I just lied. I totally understand y more times than we should, we go for that naked rawness in order to intensify that hmmm...2 mins to 2 hours of bliss (depending on the male) but is it really the right choice? Is it worth the possibility of having a child or catching an STD? Why is it so hard to just say no glove no love?
